The traffic cone protection society
Here’s an exercise for you: google “cones Japan” and have a good laugh with the first of Dave Powell’s fantastic and ongoing ethnographic study of Japanese obsession with traffic cones*. That blog post has inspired me and Jenny to consider the British relationship with said road-marking artefacts, and the first results are more than a little startling.
Either this cone was being kidnapped, or some kind soul decided to save it from its troubles and transport it around in a shopping cart. The investigation continues.
*While you’re there, enjoy the wonderful place which is Dave’s blog, ShootTokyo. It’s one of those nice, polite corners of the Internet that always rewards visitors with nice photos and a good vibe.
