The traffic cone protection society

Here’s an exercise for you: google “cones Japan” and have a good laugh with the first of Dave Powell’s fantastic and ongoing ethnographic study of Japanese obsession with traffic cones*. That blog post has inspired me and Jenny to consider the British relationship with said road-marking artefacts, and the first results are more than a little startling.

Either this cone was being kidnapped, or some kind soul decided to save it from its troubles and transport it around in a shopping cart. The investigation continues.
