I’m on a boat (2)

Here’s a sample of some of the boats on the Thames while we steamed (huh…) between Embankment and Greenwich.

The folks sell “emotive” trips up and down the river. They get 10 or so people in the speedboats and speed up and down, jump up and down on the bigger ships’ wake and make a few tight turns. Takes all sorts!

If a more leisurely ride is your thing, try the HMS Belfast. It doesn’t go anywhere, you simply pay your ticket and walk around in it. I’ve wanted to go there for a bit, but last time it was closed for refurbishment, and now I was on another boat and didn’t fancy boarding. Note The Shard behind it.

Well the camouflage works.

And here’s HMS Refuse.

Actually it’s probably called something else.

And one of my favourite shots of the whole day: The Gherkin to the left, The Shard to the right, Tower Bridge in the middle.
