A different kind of pub
In a brief respite from the rain we took a trip to another garden centre, home to the Bee and Butterfly pub, not your usual watering hole but it made for some interesting photography.
There were indeed bumblebees. These images were taken using the ‘super’ macro mode on the Fujifilm X10. I was surprised by the quality.
The image above was already a crop of the original, and even tighter crop shows even more detail without losing too much quality.
I didn’t actually see any butterflies, but there were range of other insects hovering about.
This was a pretty good test for the X10 macro, something I had not really tried before. Given that most of the subjects in these photographs were not in the sample place for very long, and the pictures were more or less just ‘point and shoot’ the results were satisfying.
