Pancake Fever! Return of the street performer
He’s back! Oblique Exposure’s favourite street performer, captured using the beautiful Canon 40mm pancake lens on the Canon 1100D.
I like this shot, and the camera and the lens did the best of a bad job: the city was just horrible cloudy, dark and grey that day. I wonder if a monochrome conversion would work better… I feel a reworking of this photo may feature in Oblique Exposure at some point in the future.

This kind of light is perfect for color! The yellow spot in the background puts the picture into balance.
Interesting point. I think something could be gained from converting to mono and focusing on the contrasts and textures. I haven’t made up my mind on this one, and the photo has been sitting on my hard drive for a month or so. I guess I’ll try, and see what’s what.
